Meet the Staff of Huntington Academy of Permanent Cosmetics and Faces Etc.
Karen Holvey is the owner and founder of both Huntington Academy and Faces Etc., located in Huntington Beach, California. She is the Director of Education and has worked over 18 years putting together what she believes to be one of the best training programs available. We pride ourselves in keeping current and deliver the most up to date information in our industry.
Karen has over 35 years in the beauty industry as a cosmetologist and make up artist with special emphasis on color theory and design. She excelled doing platform work and teaching others the newest in coloring and design. A natural born instructor moved her to permanent cosmetics in 1989, where she began working closely with many medical professionals and cosmetic surgeons in the Orange County and Los Angeles areas. She joined the cosmetic dermatology practice at the "Fulton Skin Institute" and worked closely with Dr. James Fulton for over 8 years.
Karen has lectured at numerous professional trade show conferences, cosmetic and laser seminars, written articles for medical clinic newsletters, as well as Skin Inc and Cosmetech magazines. She has offered work shops at Esthetic conferences and the SPCP conferences.
Karen has authored the "Ultimate Reception Book" of before and after photos and has developed several educational DVD's. She has written manuals and color theory workbooks for other permanent make-up training centers and is the "Director of Education" for the American Institute of Education in Long Beach.

Our staff has had extensive training in both Permanent Cosmetics and Advanced Body Care.
Jeff Becker, unlike many technicians who offer other services, specializes and focuses only on Permanent Cosmetics. With over 7 years of experience, he has seen many hundreds of clients. Jeff's professionalism and attention to details make his eyebrow designs a work of art.
A perfectionist when it comes to the end result and striving to achieve the natural looking eyebrow with accurate color choice is always his goal. He is truly a master of hair simulation, placing each hair one at a time. The results are beautiful. He also specializes in lash enhancement, as well as, your thicker wedged eyeliner and also does a beautiful blended lip.
There are only a few professions where both artistic application by the technician and the expertise of the equipment rank equally important. This is why Jeff has chosen to only work with digital equipment. This is what makes Permanent Cosmetics truly an art.
Jeff also helps set-up our classes and educational seminars. He helps with the skin stretching segment of our beginning classes and fills in where we need him. He helps our students with visuals, hands-on and technical support after their initial training is completed.
Debbie Miller is a licensed Cosmetologist with over 20 years experience in the beauty and medical industries, and is a Certified practitioner plus a California licensed Instructor. She brings with her a wealth of experience.
Debbie has mentored and taught with a passion for the creative beauty arts. She has written
articles for magazines, appeared on television and has done traditional make-up
artistry for weddings, runway and magazine photo shoots.
Debbie believes in education using the latest advances the Permanent Make-up industry has to offer.
She will provide you with the tools and training unsurpassed in the field of
Permanent Cosmetics. Her belief a solid education in the fundamentals of Permanent Cosmetics is the key to success in this field.
Dale Case is a state of California licensed Permanent Make-up Instructor, Cosmetologist and Electrologist. She brings with her 30 years of expertise in the beauty industry. She has worked over 12 years under the Direction of a Dermatologist and has accomplished her Para-medical certificate.
Dale has been performing Electrology and Permanent Cosmetics for over 19 years. Her lecturing and organization skills are un-surpassed by none. Dale has also been the President and Chairwoman of over six city and national organizations. She has been an Instructor with Huntington Academy for over 9 years and is a great asset to our school and our students.
Rene McClane is a California licensed Cosmetologist and has been a full service salon owner in Huntington Beach for over 20 years. She has earned the "Pillar of Achievement" award from Golden West College and currently serves on the Cosmetology Advisory Board at Golden West College.
Rene decided about 5 years ago, to expand her personal services at her salon to include Permanent Make-up. She picked our school and equipment for her training and excelled quickly, doing beautiful work. Being both a great technician and her love and compassion to help others, gave her the idea of teaching Permanent Cosmetics. Today, she is one of our favorite instructors of this exciting, artistic, expanding field of beauty - Permanent Cosmetic Make-up.
Davonne Aarons specializes in Endermologie and Body Wraps. She is our expert in cellulite reduction, inch loss and lymphatic drainage.
She does wonders with pre and post liposuction patients, aiding the surgeons with even better results.
Davonne brings with her over 13 years of experience in this specialty field and uses the most advanced equipment from LPG. She is also our expert at Physiotherapy.
Gail Stapley is our Office Manager and watches over all of us. She makes sure the office run smoothly. She processes all the supply orders and books your appointments.
