Permanent cosmetics, also referred to as permanent makeup, cosmetic tattooing, micropigmentation, dermapigmentation, paramedical tattooing or intradermal color is the process of implanting pigment colors into the dermal layer of the skin to enhance the appearance of ones natural beauty. Permanent cosmetics can also help to disguise flaws such as an uneven lipline, loss of eyebrows, scars resulting from surgery or injuries and burn survivors. Karen Holvey specializes in breast repigmentation and works with some of the finest plastic surgeons in Orange County. Recreating an areola/nipple resulting from breast surgery scars and by helping the breast cancer survivors following a mastectomy by designing, positioning and repigmenting the breast tissue to look so very natural. She is also an insurance provider and works with insurance groups to offer these services to breast cancer survivors. This is truly the most rewarding procedure to offer to our clients. Huntington Academy of Permanent Cosmetics is one of the most respected permanent makeup schools in the industry, offering beginning permanent makeup classes as well as continuing and advanced education. We are located in Huntington Beach, California. Karen Holvey is the President, Master Instructor and Director of Education. Ms. Holvey has been in the Orange County area since 1994 and has seen students from all over the US as well as Europe. She has put together a very impressive, comprehensive, practical and hands-on training program which she updates constantly. Karen Holvey is a world renowned permanent makeup artist, educator and lecturer.
Each year at west coast esthetic conventions and trade shows, Karen offers educational classes covering the benefits of using digital equipment, quality pigments, color theory and hair stroke simulation among other topics. She has written training manuals for numerous other permanent makeup training schools. Ms. Holvey is also training other technicians to become Master Trainers with her new training program launched in April of 2007.

Karen has been in the beauty industry since 1966 and has been a successful permanent makeup artist and instructor since 1989. Karen brings to her students the expertise and a first hand account of the advances made throughout the past 20 years. Ms Holvey’s program is State of California approved and can offer her students a student government loan. She has to her credit some of the most respected and talented instructors in the field of Permanent Cosmetics each practicing for a minimum of 10 years and carry certification and are state licensed.
